Completion, Placement, and Licensure Rates

Statistics below are from the 2024 ACCSC Annual Report.

Barber 9 Month Program

Graduation: 93% or 13 of the 14 students in the full-time 1200-hour barber program enrolled between 03/01/2022 to 02/28/2023 graduated. The remaining 1 student dropped to pursue another career.

Placement: 92% or 12 of the 13 graduates available for placement reported finding jobs in the barber industry.

Licensure: Of the 13 graduates, 12 reported back with exam results. 100% or 12 of the 12 reporting graduates passed the state board exam.

Cosmetology 11 Month Program

Graduation: 91% or 69 out of 78 students in the full-time 1500-hour cosmetology program enrolled between 12/01/2021 to 11/30/2022 graduated. Of the remaining 9 students,7 dropped to pursue another career. Two students were not included in the calculation due to transferring to another program within the academy.

Placement: 85% or 58 of the 68 graduates available for placement reported finding jobs in the cosmetology industry. One graduate was reported as unavailable for placement due to furthering their education.

Licensure: Of the 69 graduates, 42 reported back with exam results. 100% or 42 of the 42 reporting graduates passed the state board exam.

Cosmetology 20 Month Program

Graduation: 29% or 5 of the 17 students in the part-time 1500-hour cosmetology program enrolled between 10/01/2020 to 09/30/2021 graduated. Of the remaining 12 students, 12 dropped to pursue another career.

Placement: 40% or 2 of the 5 graduates available for placement reported finding jobs in the cosmetology industry.

Licensure: Of the 5 graduates, 4 reported back with exam results. 100% or 4 of the 4 reporting graduates passed the state board exam.

Full Specialist (600 Hours) 5 Month Program

Graduation: 92% or 33 of the 37 students in the full-time full specialist program enrolled between 09/01/2022 to 08/31/2023 graduated. Of the remaining 4 students,3 dropped to pursue another career. One student was not included in the calculation due to transferring to another program within the academy.

Placement: 67% or 22 of the 33 graduates available for placement reported finding jobs in the full specialist industry.

Licensure: 100% of the graduates passed the academy’s final exam.

Full Specialist (600 Hours) 7 Month Program

Graduation: 97% or 33 of the 36 students in the part time full specialist program enrolled between 06/01/2022 to 05/31/2023 graduated. Of the remaining 3 students,1 dropped to pursue another career. One student was not included in the calculation due to transferring to another program within the academy and another was excluded due to being unavailable for graduation.

Placement: 79% or 26 of the 33 graduates available for placement reported finding jobs in the full specialist industry.

Licensure: 100% of the graduates passed the academy’s final exam.

Skin Care Specialist 6 Month Program

Graduation: 100% or 11 of the 11 students in the full-time skin care specialist program enrolled between 07/01/2022 to 06/30/2023 graduated.

Placement: 82% or 9 of the 11 graduates available for placement reported finding jobs in the skin care industry.

Licensure: 100% of the graduates passed the academy’s final exam.

Massage Therapy 6 Month Program

Graduation: 100% or 2 of the 2 students in the full-time massage therapy program enrolled between 07/01/2022 to 06/30/2023 graduated.

Placement: 0% or 0 of the 2 graduates available for placement reported finding jobs in the massage therapy industry.

Licensure: Of the 2 graduates, 0 reported back with exam results.

Spa Therapies 7 Month Program

Graduation: 100% or 1 of 1 student in the full-time spa therapies program enrolled between 06/01/2022 to 05/31/2023 graduated.

Placement: 100% or 1 of 1 graduate available for placement reported finding jobs in the skin care industry.

Licensure: Of the 1 graduate, 1 reported back with exam results. 0% or 0 of the 1 reporting graduate passed the state board exam.

STATE LICENSURE RECIPROCITY DISCLOSURE

Summit Salon Academy will provide a program of study that meets minimum curriculum requirements as prescribed by the state of Florida.

For states outside of Florida: the institution has not made a determination on whether the program meets other states’ educational/licensure requirements.

Summit Salon Academy does not provide training or activities out-of-state. All programs offered at the institution lead to professional licensure in the state of Florida. All students, including those who live in bordering states, are notified prior to enrollment that education received at Summit Salon Academy follows the Florida Council on Independent Education regulations which require:

If a student needs additional assistance with determining requirements for other states, they can seek the assistance of the Academy’s Director of Education.

Additionally, the Transfer Policy indicates that Summit Salon Academy does not guarantee transferability of credits earned to any other institution.” Per the transfer policy in the catalog, our curriculum has not been reviewed for compliance with other states’ professional licensure requirements.
